This calendar is sponsored by the Minnesota chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. It is a great site, and many events are inexpensive, some free. Many events are listed along the left-hand side bar. Some (mostly events specific to Mn-ACDA) are listed on the “calendar” pull-down menu.

This local jazz station has a great events calendar.
Dedicated to organ performance. Has a great local calendar. Many of these concerts are free.
The Star Tribune has a terrific local concert calendar which they update regularly. Go to the menu bar at the top of the page, and click the pull-down menu under “Entertainment”, then “music”. From this point you can browse for what looks interesting.
Sacred Harp – Minneapolis/St Paul Area
For those of you interested in participating in music. This is a tradition that comes from the early Singing Schools discussed in our chapter on Folk Music in the United States.
This is the choir that I am proud to sing with. It is the principal chorus of the Minnesota Orchestra, and has been gaining national recognition for its own programming, especially its Bridges events, which focus on community engagement.
This small, internationally known orchestra has fine concerts around the metro area. Check them out for student rush.
